So, Jimmy Kimmel (or how ever you spell it) asked for videos of parents giving their child an inappropriate Christmas gift early. So, Andy picked up one of those princesses with rubber clothes to give Wes. We told him he had been so good we wanted to give him a special early present to encourage him to continue his good behavior. He opened it with such anticipation. His face dropped when he was what it was. "This is a girl toy," he said.
We thought we had played a good prank. Well, it wasn't quite over. As Wes continued to look at the princess, he came to the conclusion that you get what you get and you don't throw a fit. We asked if he liked it. "Yeah, I like it.". We told him he didn't have to, that we were pranking him. We told him we had a real gift for him. He then opened the Beyblades. Then we asked which gift he liked better. He said, "I like them the same. It's just that I have a problem: one's a girl toy and one's a boy toy. Hey do you want to play with this (Beyblades) and I'll play with Sleeping Beauty?". Guess the joke was on us. Thanks, Jimmy, we'll be billing you for therapy.
status update : this is how he played with the princess : "Let's put the princess in the middle of the beyblades, and whoever knocks her down first wins". (phew!). :)
